Avtor je zanimanje iz polja svojih domicilnih ved, etnologije in kulturne antropologije, razširil na splošno zgodovino, zgodovino plesa, filozofijo, zgodovino glasbe in cerkve, teologijo in mitologijo. Gre za lucidno, kritično, teoretsko, metodološko in vsebinsko znanstveno utemeljeno delo o zgodovini umeščanja giba/plesa v kontekst sakralnega.
