Dubbed “The Preacher”, he says he kills in the name of Satan yet considers himself the Son of God. Norrie considers him just plain mad. She knows he’s a threat to the women of the night in her city and vows to stop him but no matter what they do, he is always one step ahead of the police. She accepts the invitation of Lt. Dylan Jones and Det. Brandon Hawke to assist in capturing this murdering maniac. She uses her psychic edge to read murder scenes for the police and attempts to make contact with the killer. She wants to stop him, or figure out who he is, before he kills again. Her psychic abilities help her make contact, but she can’t see the man in any of her mental connections. Is that due to her medical condition? She lost her sight in a car accident but gained the ability to connect to people’s minds through touch. What Norrie finds odd is the murderer seems to know he must never show his face when she makes contact. Is he someone she knows? She doesn’t learn nearly enough before she realizes she will be his next victim. Occasional swear words where appropriate, no full-out sex scenes – just Norrie’s daydreams. And no satanic blatherings by a tetched writer. Some gruesome descriptions, but not over-done. BLIND JUSTICE was an RWA Golden Heart finalist in 2003 and 2004 Previously published as Blind Justice in 2004 and as A Man of the Cloth in 2019. This book has been extensively revised to bring it into the present.

Book excerpt: NATIONAL BESTSELLER For a generation, Anne Perry’s New York Times bestselling novels have invited readers to explore the brilliantly seductive heart of Victorian London, where great wealth and great evil live side by side, and great men sometimes make unfortunate choices. In Blind Justice, Hester Monk, the wife of William Monk, commander of the Thames River Police, questions the finances of a London church whose members’ hard-earned charitable gifts appear to have ended up in the pocket of charismatic preacher Abel Taft, paying for his fine home and the stylish outfits of his wife and daughters. Taft is accused of extortion, and brilliant barrister Oliver Rathbone, newly appointed a judge, is chosen to preside over his trial. It seems clear that Taft is indeed guilty. However, at the last second, the defense produces a witness who completely undermines the charges. Then Rathbone makes a well-meaning but reckless move that could ruin his career, his reputation, and his life. Blind Justice presents a rich and lively panorama of London life, from the teeming Thames docks to the wealthy West End, while unfolding a magnificent courtroom drama. And while justice, law, and morality hang in the balance, Hester and Monk race to save their distinguished friend Rathbone from disgrace. The incomparable art of Anne Perry grips us fast until the final, unforgettable scene. BONUS: This edition includes an excerpt from Anne Perry's Blood on the Water. Book excerpt: This eBook has been formatted to the highest digital standards and adjusted for readability on all devices. Middlemarch, A Study of Provincial Life is centered on the lives of the residents of Middlemarch, a fictitious Midlands town, from 1829 onwards—the years preceding the 1832 Reform Act. The narrative is variably considered to consist of three or four plots of unequal emphasis: the life of Dorothea Brooke; the career of Tertius Lydgate; the courtship of Mary Garth by Fred Vincy; and the disgrace of Nicholas Bulstrode. Significant themes include the status of women, the nature of marriage, idealism, self-interest, religion, hypocrisy, political reform, and education.
