You can't outrun a hunter like Angus Murray... The last thing black wolf Shifter Angus Murray wants is to go chasing down some fugitive Shifter woman for Shifter Bureau. But when a Bureau agent threatens Angus's son, Angus will do anything it takes to track down the elusive Shifter and protect his cub. ...You outfox him... For twenty years Tasmin Calloway has been on the run, relying on her street smarts and easy charm to sweet-talk her way out of trouble. She knows she should put as much distance as possible between herself and the hot-bodied Angus. But she also longs to let down her guard, to experience a true connection with another person. Yet, with tenuous trust comes a companionship she never expected. And as the fragile link between them turns to something more, Tamsin will have to break all her own rules and believe Angus will keep her secrets--and her heart--safe.

Book excerpt: Howlin’ Wolf was a musical giant in every way. He stood six foot three, weighed almost three hundred pounds, wore size sixteen shoes, and poured out his darkest sorrows onstage in a voice like a raging chainsaw. Half a century after his first hits, his sound still terrifies and inspires. Born Chester Burnett in 1910, the Wolf survived a grim childhood and hardscrabble youth as a sharecropper in Mississippi. He began his career playing and singing with the first Delta blues stars for two decades in perilous juke joints. He was present at the birth of rock ’n’ roll in Memphis, where Sam Phillips–who also discovered Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis–called Wolf his “greatest discovery.” He helped develop the sound of electric blues and vied with rival Muddy Waters for the title of king of Chicago blues. He ended his career performing and recording with the world’s most famous rock stars. His passion for music kept him performing–despite devastating physical problems–right up to his death in 1976. There’s never been a comprehensive biography of the Wolf until now. Moanin’ at Midnight is full of startling information about his mysterious early years, surprising and entertaining stories about his decades at the top, and never-before-seen photographs. It strips away all the myths to reveal–at long last–the real-life triumphs and tragedies of this blues titan.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the night of December 1,1900, Iowa farmer John Hossack was attacked and killed while he slept at home beside his wife, Margaret. On April 11, 1901, after five days of testimony before an all-male jury, Margaret Hossack was found guilty of his murder and sentenced to life in prison. One year later, she was released on bail to await a retrial; jurors at this second trial could not reach a decision, and she was freed. She died August 25, 1916, leaving the mystery of her husband's death unsolved. The Hossack tragedy is a compelling one and the issues surrounding their domestic problems are still relevant today, Margaret's composure and stoicism, developed during years of spousal abuse, were seen as evidence of unfeminine behavior, while John Hossack--known to be a cruel and dangerous man--was hailed as a respectable husband and father. Midnight Assassin also introduces us to Susan Glaspell, a journalist who reported on the Hossack murder for the Des Moines Daily, who used these events as the basis for her classic short story, " A Jury of Her Peers", and the famous play Trifles. Based on almost a decade of research, Midnight Assassin is a riveting story of loneliness, fear, and suffering in the rural Midwest.

Book excerpt: About the Book Jasmine is a young girl who desires to be normal, but her family lineage and future responsibilities do not allow for her to lead a normal life. Jasmine is a hybrid werewolf and witch, heir to the largest pack on the American continent and the main seat on the witches’ council. On Jasmine's 18th birthday she discovers she also has her father's powers when she shifts into her wolf. This is when Jasmine discovers what she thought to be a bedtime story is a prophecy for the supernatural race. Jasmine, along with her friends, family, and protectors, must fight for the rights of the supernatural world against their own, those who want to segregate the species and have only pure bloodlines. Midnight Wolf has it all—wolves, vampires, witches, Fae, elves, trolls, and others working together to secure the futures of all. This story hopefully has individuals thinking about race issues, that there are good and bad people in every walk of life, no race is inherently bad. About the Author J. She is part of a federally recognized tribe, the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, which is a small tribe in Oregon. As far as hobbies, J. Lyn does enjoy getting out in nature, be it for hiking, camping, fishing—it doesn't matter. She does a lot of beadwork, some for their regalia and some just because it is calming to her. She spends a lot of time in her backyard gardening and, of course, she writes.

Book excerpt: 'The wolf Meshiska gave birth to five cubs on the night before full moon. Outside the den a storm was lashing the spruce trees. The sky and the land had become part of each other: a scatterwind night swirling with fragments of black and white. Snow became darkness and darkness snow, and any creature lost between the two found a rock or a tree and lay down beside it, to wait until the world had formed again.' Into this bleak landscape, Athaba is born, a young wolf destined for great adventure. Exiled from his pack for breaking its rigid codes of behaviour and showing too much imagination, Athaba becomes a 'raven wolf', a lonely scavenger living on scraps and his wits. Survival in the icy wastes is hard and dangerous without the comfort and protection of the pack. Injured, and stranded far from home, Athaba is forced to strike up an uneasy alliance with his natural enemy: a man. Together, but ever wary of each other, the wolf and the solitary hunter start their long walk home across the wilderness. It soon becomes clear that the man must learn to be a wolf if he is to survive in the wolf's world. And Athaba has to use all his imagination to learn new skills and strategies to fend for himself and his new pack member: for he discovers that men are frail, and often very ignorant!
