Book excerpt: It cannot be overemphasized how important it is for leaders to ensure the company’s mission is manifested in the roles, expectations, and goals of every member of the organization. Companies live or die based on their ability to communicate and deliver on the promise their brand makes to its customers. But if that message is varied, or added to, or even unknown by a single member of the team, the resulting inefficiency, conflict, and disengagement will cripple a company’s ability to provide value to its customers. True Alignment reveals the blueprint for businesses of all types and sizes for creating a company culture where everyone is aligned to the vision and strategy behind the brand intention and responsible for living out the brand promise. You will learn how to: Decipher customer expectations Define the brand as a solution to the customer's needs Turn the unique selling proposition into the mission And much more You can replace the tires on a car, but if you don’t fix the alignment, you still won’t drive straight. The same goes for your company. Nothing else matters until the entire organization is aligned.

Book excerpt: "With lucidity and elegance, Zukav explains that we are evolving from a species that pursues power based upon the perceptions of the five senses -- external power -- into a species that pursues authentic power -- power that is based upon the perceptions and values of the spirit. He shows how the pursuit of external power has produced our survival-of-the-fittest understanding of evolution, generated conflict between lovers, communities, and superpowers, and brought us to the edge of destruction. Using his scientist's eye and philosopher's heart, Zukav shows how infusing the activities of life with reverence, compassion, and trust makes them come alive with meaning and purpose. He illustrates how the emerging values of the spirit are changing marriages into spiritual partnerships, psychology into spiritual psychology, and transforming our everyday lives. The Seat of the Soul describes the remarkable journey to the spirit that each of us is on."--Amazon.com.

Book excerpt: Inner Alignment is a gentle invitation to readers to take an inward journey into themselves, to reflect on their lives lived thus far, and to contemplate a fundamental re-setting of their inner compass, before engaging the world afresh, armed with a new framework for the reclaiming of their own authenticity and influence in life. Inner Alignment starts from a postulation of the core purpose of human life, (which is an experiential evolutionary process of self realization), then delves into an exploration, from the perspective of the physical body as energy, seeking to identify the body's inherent beacons of energy expenditure during our human lifetimes, (i.e. our Feelings, Thoughts, Words and Actions), before moving on to explore the fundamental directions or motives behind such energy expenditure, (Love/Giving v Fear/Taking). An exploration of the possible existence of a universal 'preference' for the direction of our energy expenditure then follows, (where Love/Giving is explored as an intrinsically preferred direction of flow of universal energy). A discussion then follows on the attainment of two levels of wisdom ... the first being that it may be best, from an efficiency viewpoint, to have all of our inner beacons of energy radiation internally aligned so as to enable us to move more efficiently through our lives ... the second level of wisdom is attained when we then ask ourselves just which of these inner beacons ought to lead, (ie we now address the direction of sail, and ask which inner beacon ought to serve as captain of the ship (Feelings/the language of the soul/grounded in love)? The book then explores the dangers of allowing leadership from the mind, (typically grounded in Fear), and calls instead for the soul to usurp that role ... and within this framework, we effectively find ourselves letting go, and letting 'God', (through the voice of the soul), take captaincy of our lives, leaving us to serve as his divine instruments of implementation. The journey flows into a philosophical contemplation of the highest potential use of our material bodies before we shed them ... that is, in the direction of Service/Giving to as many other humans as we can possibly reach. It also explores the role of Joy, Grace & Gratitude as catalysts in our service-centric lives, then heads into the realm of 'outward alignment' with others, that is, into the realm of influence and of authentic leadership, (postulating that such levels of influence and authenticity are most powerfully and sustainably attained only after we have first re-claimed our inner alignment). The book draws to an end with a call to action, and ends with a 'religion-neutral' daily prayer for inner alignment and for service. Ultimately, Inner Alignment is a wake-up call to service-oriented action, and for all of us to move to a different rhythm in our daily lives ... it is about making the choice to move to our very deepest rhythm ... of who we truly are.
