Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2023 2nd International Conference on Art Design and Digital Technology (ADDT 2023) was successfully held on September 15-17, 2023 in Xi'an, China. ADDT 2023 created a forum for idea sharing and research exchange, opened up new perspectives in related fields and broadened the horizons of all participants. In the conference, 100 individuals around the world took part in the conference. Divided into three parts, the conference agenda covered keynote speeches, oral presentations and online Q&A discussion. Firstly, the keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to address their speeches. Then in the oral presentations, the excellent papers we had selected were presented by their authors one by one. We are glad to share with you that we’ve selected a bunch of high-quality papers from the submissions and compiled them into the proceedings after rigorously reviewing them. These papers feature but are not limited to the following topics: Computer Art, Visual Design, Digital Media, Innovative Technology, etc. All the papers have been checked through rigorous review and processes to meet the requirements of publication. We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported ADDT 2023 and made it a great success. In particular, we would like to thank the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI), for the hard work of all its colleagues in publishing this paper volume. We sincerely hope that the ADDT 2023 turned out to be a forum for excellent discussions that enable new ideas to come about, promoting collaborative research.

This book was released on 2024-11-08 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As concrete revolutionised construction in the 20th century, digitalisation is transforming the building industry (BI). Process automation and 3D printing (3DP) are commonplace in the industry and our homes. However, due to BI’s scale and complexity, Additive Manufacturing (AM) is in its native stage. Ongoing scientific research has been providing knowledge that will simplify the integration of 3DCP in the market, exploring its materiality, technologies, and design methodologies. This book provides an overview of the latest research achievements of the design possibilities that 3DP for construction (3DC) can offer in the various fields of construction, particularly architecture and engineering.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book collects contributions of forefront research and practices related to the use of the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 in the architecture and design fields and their impact on the UN's Sustainable Developments goals. The book is structured into three sections (research, practice, and technologies), with the goal of creating a new framework useful for widespread awareness necessary to initiate technology transfer processes for the benefit of the public sector, universities, research centers, and innovative companies, and a new professional figure capable of controlling the entire process is essential. Thus, the book chapters arouse a series of relevant topics such as computational and parametric design, performance-based architecture, data-driven design strategies, parametric environmental design and analysis, computational and parametric structural design and analysis, AI and machine learning, BIM and interoperability, VR and AR, digital and robotic fabrication, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, R&D and entrepreneurship, circular architecture, and didactics. In the post-digital era, where the essence of design lies in the control and information of the process that holistically involves all the aspects mentioned above, rather than in formal research, it is necessary to understand technologies and analyze the advantages that they can bring in terms of environmental sustainability and product innovation.
